How to Create a Chic and Easy Black and White Christmas Card for Week 2 of the 12 Weeks of Christmas


Thank you so much for joining me for this How to Create a Chic and Easy Black and White Christmas Card for Week 2 of the 12 Weeks of Christmas, Let's jump right in.


I started this card by trimming down a black matte to 1/8th inch smaller than the A2 base and the HammerMill panel to 1/8th of an inch smaller than the black matte, then I ran the panel through my die-cutting machine with the deco holiday embossing folder for some interesting texture.


Next, I cut out the Figgy Pudding I used Kraft cardstock for her body, legs and arms, white glitter cardstock for her boots, gloves, frosting and detail pieces of the scarf, and black for the base layer of the scarf. I used two Copic markers to colour her cheeks and eyes and the poinsettia I added to her head, 100 Black for the leaves and her eyes, and RV14 for her cheeks and the berries. I did bring in a white gel pen to add some fun highlights across the design.


For the sentiment I white heat embossed on black cardstock and cut it down to a label then added an angle cut on the front and added a thin strip of the white glitter cardstock to help it stand out. I used the strip as a way to ground my figgy pudding character so it didn't look like she was floating in thin air on the card. For a final touch and to fill in some of the extra space I added some opal gems across the card front from the left top corner to the lower right corner. I really enjoy how this card turned out and I hope you had fun following along with me!!
