How to Create a Stunning DIY Mother's Day Card with a Vibrant Green and Yellow Rose


Thank you so much for joining me for this How to Create a Stunning DIY Mother's Day Card with Vibrant Green and Yellow Rose, Let's jump right in.


I am creating this card for my mom and her favourite colour is yellow so that is the colour we will be leaning heavily into. I have an A2 sized base and a piece of Hammermill cardstock that is also A2 sized, I used Squeezed Lemonade Oxide ink to stamp a beautiful image on the Hammermill panel and then run that panel through my die-cutting machine with an embossing folder to add texture to the panel.


Next, I die-cut all the layers for the rose and blended two colours Distress Oxide ink on each layer, for the flower I used Squeezed Lemonade as a base and Mustard Seed along the bottom of the rose for added interest and on the leaves I used Twisted Citron as a base and Mowed Lawn to add more interest along the edges of all the leaves. For some added texture I used a white gel pen to add high lights and a clear glitter pen on the petals of the rose.


Then I adhered all the layers of the rose and used my Misti to stamp a sentiment on the card base that will sit right under the embossed panel. All that's left is to put the card together, I did end up adding some white thread wrapped around the card on the embossed panel for a bit more interest and separation. Because this is a card for my mom I wanted to add all the bells and whistles so I also added some pearls across the card and called it finished. I am in LOVE with how this card turned out and I hope you will give this design a try.
