How to Create a Stunning Nuvo Shimmer Heart 5x7 Card: Step-by-Step Tutorial

I started by creating the slimline bases, I cut the base cardstock to 10x7 inches then scored at the 5-inch mark giving me a base of 5 x 7 inches. I then cut the gold matte to 1/8th of an inch smaller than the base and the black panel to 1/4 of an inch smaller than the base to give me a thin border around every layer.


Next, I die-cut 5 hearts for each card from watercolour paper and used several Nuvo Shimmer Powders to add colour to each heart, I then splattered on some Gold ink to bring a bit more gold to the design. I ran the Black matte through my die-cutting machine with a Lace 3D embossing folder to add interest and texture to the panel and then arranged the hearts in a way that made me happy. Honestly, it took me a while to lay them out in a way I liked.


For the sentiments I used a piece of leftover foil and hot-foiled three sentiments for the cards, one for the anniversary card and two for the birthday card, I love how they ended up looking!! All that was left was to adhere everything together, for that, I used a mix of liquid glue and some foam tape for a little bit of added dimension. For a final touch, I added some Gold Glitter gems around the hearts and called these cards done. I am really happy with how they turned out and I hope you enjoyed reading about them!!
