How to Create a Whimsical Mixed Media Pumpkin Slimline Card: A Step-by-Step Tutorial


Thank you so much for joining me for this How to Create a Whimsical Mixed Media Pumpkin Slimline Card: A Step-by-Step Tutorial, Let's jump right in.


I started by creating the slimline base which is 7 by 8.5 inches then scored at 3.5 inch mark leaving a base thats 3.5 by 8.5 inches. I also used my deckled edge trimmer to add interest around the border of the layers. I stamped out my pumpkins on the watercolour cardstock and used masking paper to created a layered look.


Next, I used a bunch of Distress watercolour pencils to colour in the pumpkins and the background. Once that was dry I brought in some black texture paste and added that onto the panel for extra interest. For the sentiment I white heat embossing happy halloween on black cardstock and trimmed it down into a label and added it under one of the pumpkins. At this point I just couldn't stop so I also added some stamping in the background, sketchy white and black lines, and some white splatter to the panel.


For a final touch I also added some Chocolate brown pearls around the design and adhered everything onto the base. I stamped one more pumpkin on the inside for a fun extra element. I am pretty happy with how this card came together but I would love to hear your thoughts!!
