Hello everyone and thank you so much for stopping by for a new card design!! Today we will be trying out the messy distress oxide ink look, which I'll be honest was a bit of a struggle for me as I am a person who generally likes to colour within the lines, However, this was a very freeing and fun chance to play in a way with my supplies.

To start I cut down a piece of Arches Cold press 140 lb paper to 5" by 3 7/8" using my mini Misti I stamped the large bouquet of flowers with Versafine Clair nocturne ink which is a great waterproof ink. I then used several oxide ink colours to stamp out the individual shapes from the stamp set to colour in the image. Picked raspberry for the main flower, Pine needles, Cracked Pistachio, Mowed Lawn for the leaves, and Wilted Violet, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade and Mermaid Lagoon for the smaller flowers. After inking each element I used my distress sprayer to create the watercolour effect.

I find when working on something that is out of your comfort zone it's more enjoyable if you go back to something you know and love it, bright colours is something that always warms my heart and catches my eye so I stuck with bright fun colours. After I finished colouring the images I stamped the no-nonsense sentiment in the same Versafine Clair Nocturn ink using my mini Misti as it can be hard to get a good impression on watercolour paper.

Then I matted the watercolour on a piece of black 110 lb cardstock cut to 5 1/4" by 4" and glued that down to a white side fold 110 lb card base with Nuvo Deluxe glue. I couldn't resist using something gems on this card so I grabbed my pretty pink posh sparkling clear gems for some subtle shine, glueing them down randomly but in an uneven number, I find it's more pleasing to the eye to use an uneven number unless you are creating a pattern.

And that's how I created this card, I would love to hear your thoughts on how this card came together! I have a step by step of me creating it in the video below and a full supplies list below the video. Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see you again next Monday!!
