Mixed Media Pink and Brown File Folder Tutorial Part 1

Thank you for joining me for this Mixed Media Pink and Brown File Folder Tutorial Part 1. Let's jump right in.

I started by cutting out my background with the file folder die in the Speciment set by Tim Holtz, I also cut out one of the rectangles from the same die set in some Backdrop papers I picked out. To decorate the front I bought a few different bits of paper and tore them to add interest. It's hard to explain how I laid out my pieces as I kind of trial everything until I am happy with how it looked. For added interest, I also used some rub-ons, glittery tulle, and some resin dragonflies that I painted with shades of pink for some fun textures. I added a sentiment from the sentiment label stickers to help tie all the colours together.

On the inside of my File Folder, I used some more of those beautiful leaf rub-ons, the rectangle I cut out earlier with some added Ephemera, twine, Velvet trim and a word tag. I attached it to the top of the file folder with an eyelet so that it could swing if I wanted the element to move, I am super happy with how this turned out and I cannot wait to see how the other three come together!!
