Hello everyone, and thank you for stopping by for the third installment in my Christmas in July series. For this card I wanted to take it away from snowflakes so I created a Gold Embossed card to share with you, so let's jump right in!!

As you know I always have my cardstock cut down to the size I want before I start which is always 1/8 of an inch smaller than the next piece of cardstock. 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches for the card base, 1/8 of an inch smaller for the black matte, and my card panel is 1/8 of an inch smaller than my black matte.

To start with this card I heat embossed my sentiment first so that I had placement and could align it easily within the card panel, I used a piece of Navy cardstock from my stash and an anti-static powder tool to prep my cardstock. Using a stamping platform and my Versamark ink I stamped down my sentiment then covered it in Brutus Monroe Gilded Embossing powder and heat set until it was smooth and melted.

Once the cardstock cooled down I used Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress Oxide ink to add a dark outline around the card to add a little bit more drama to my card. I really wanted some texture in my background so I added some splashes of both oxide colours and some Perfect Pearls in the original colour perfect pearl. Once my panel is completely dry I put my navy cardstock back in my stamping platform to add the leaves around the image embossed in gold. Following all the same steps I used for the sentiment. Once all four sides were done, I also used a watermark effect with the same leaves and the same stamp.

Then I adhered down the panels with Nuvo Deluxe glue and added some Pink Fresh Studio gems from their essential collection. If you want to hear my embossing tips and tricks please watch the video posted below, I will have examples of what I do and how to fix mistakes in that video. I haven't written them out, as I find people have an easier time seeing what I am referring to.

Thank you so much again for stopping by, and I will see you next week for our final Christmas in July card and heads up it is a Slimline card!!!!
