Step-by-Step Guide: How to Create an Ink Blended Floral Slimline Birthday Card


Thank you so much for joining me for this Step-by-Step Guide: How to Create an Ink Blended Floral Slimline Birthday Card, Let's jump right in.


I started by creating the slimline bases, I cut the base cardstock to 7 x 8.5 inches then scored at the 3.5-inch mark giving me a base of 3.5 x 8.5 inches. I then cut the black matte to 1/8th of an inch smaller than the base and the white panel to 1/4 of an inch smaller than the base to give me a thin border around every layer.


Next, I blended on three colours of Distress Oxide ink in Seedless Preserves, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar on the first panel and on the second I blended Kitsch Flamingo, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio. I blended between the colours until I was happy with how they looked. For some added shimmer and shine I also splashed on some perfect pearls to the background. For the focal image I white heat embossed a birthday sentiment and a beautiful floral image.


All thats left is to adhere the layers together, I used both liquid glue and foam tape for some added dimension. I also brought in a few small silver crystals to add interest around the sentiments. I am pretty happy with how these cards came together and I hope you will give them a try!!
