Thank you so much for joining me for this Stunning Pastel Nuvo Shimmer Powder Butterfly Slimline Card, Let's jump right in.
To start I made my slimline base, which when scored is 3.5 inches by 8.5 inches. I then cut down two pieces of HammerMill cardstock and ran them through my Gemini with the two largest dies from the Slim Lacy Layers dies to create my panel and base for this card.
I cut a piece of Distress watercolour cardstock in half and adhered it to a hardboard with some low-tack tape, then added three colours of Nuvo Shimmer powders in Cherry Bomb, Blue Blitz and Solar Flare, and sprayed on copious amounts of water to get the powders to move. I set the hardboard aside to dry.
I then heat embossed in Gold the six butterflies from the Beautiful Butterfly stamp set on heavy weigh Vellum and cut them out with the matching dies. I also flicked on a bit of gold watercolour to the lacy panel for some added texture. Once my watercolour cardstock was dry I cut out the six butterflies again to create a colourful piece to go under my vellum detail layer and adhered them all with some Bearly art glue but only on the center of the butterfly.
I laid out the butterflies in a design that I found visually appealing and adhered all the layers together with Nuvo deluxe glue and Big Momma foam tape, I then popped up the wings gently for some added dimension, and brought in some beautiful white pearls to finish this card off.
