Vintage Sunflower Happy Birthday Mini Slimline Card Tutorial


Thank you so much for joining me for this Vintage Sunflower Happy Birthday Mini Slimline Card Tutorial, Let's jump right in.


I created the bases for my mini slimline cards by trimming down a piece of cardstock to six by six inches and scoring it at the three-inch mark. I also cut down a black matte to be 1/8th of an inch smaller than my base and will later cut the kraft stock to be 1/4 of an inch smaller than the base.


I trimmed a piece of kraft stock to six by six inches and stamped the Sunflower image in black ink that I heat set before using the coordinating stencil set to colour in the image. I used four Distress Oxide inks with the four stencils in Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover. Then I cut the panel down and wrapped twine around the panel and added a bow. For the sentiment, I white heat embossed Happy Birthday, trimmed them down into a thin label, and added it above the twine. I added some yellow gems around the card for a final touch and called them finished. I am pretty happy with how these cards turned out even with the more muted colour palette.
